Over 50 years in the food distribution industry
Our family has a rich history in the wholesale food distribution industry, spanning over 50 years. It all began in 1969, when Hugo Leopoldo Flores and Judith Flores Castano founded Flores Castano Imports, a packaging company that imported food products like peppers and corn husks from Mexico and distributed them throughout the United States. As the years passed, the product line expanded to include canned goods, soft drinks, and hot sauces.
Their eldest son, Hugo Gerardo Flores, joined the company in the 70s and early 80s, learning the warehousing and distribution aspects while attending school. He gradually built a client network and, after graduating from Texas A&M in 1987, opened his own wholesale food distribution company. During these early years, his parents decided to retire and sold him their existing inventory. Hugo kept the name Flores Castaño Imports and for the past 33 years, the company has continued to sell many of the staple products that helped forge it while adding several new items to our inventory.
Lobo Foods
Despite the new name, Lobo Foods remains dedicated to the same principles that made Flores Castano Imports successful – hard work and dedication to providing customers with the best experience possible. We go above and beyond to accommodate our customers’ needs, setting us apart from other wholesale food distributors.
